Nancy Pugliese

Originally from Berlin, Germany, Nancy started yoga at Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Zentrum Berlin in the early 1990’s. After living in Portland, Oregon she was introduced to Buddhism which she has been practising now for over 20 years. She moved to London in 2003 and practised Bikram Yoga at Old Street, Shoreditch before exploring other types of yoga. In 2021 Nancy did her yoga teachers training with Nourish Yoga Training in Oxford, UK. Her interests are special needs yoga, accessible yoga, children’s and teen yoga. She teaches yoga in primary and secondary schools, gyms and the Garsington Village Hall.

Nancy’s educational background is in economics, gender studies and public relations. After working in the media, events and dance world in Berlin, she worked in finance in London before moving to Oxford in 2010.

She lives with her husband, their teenage son, two dogs, a cat and happy chickens in a village near Oxford.

In April Nancy was running the London Marathon 2023 for the charity Scope.

Even today in 2022, disabled people are treated as second class citizens in Britain. And progress isn’t coming fast enough. Many disabled people face multiple levels of discrimination every day, and 40% of disabled people live in poverty. I'm running the 2023 London Marathon so all disabled people can live the life they choose, more independently and free from discrimination. Please support me in my mission to raise £2,000 for Scope.
